BOOKMARKS Authors in Schools

BOOKMARKS' authors visited local schools in the triad on the Friday before the Festival. Storyteller Gran'daddy Junebug visited Brunson Elementary School; Scott Douglas met with East Forsyth High School's Cross Country Team; Robert Edelstein met with students and faculty from WSSU’s Motorsports Management Program; Shana Norris met with 10th grade honor students at North Forsyth High School; Henry Neff met with students at Sherwood Elementary School; Martha Southgate met with students at Winston-Salem State University, Joe Glatthaar met with High Point University's History Department; Jamie Gilson met with Moore Elementary School students; and Mark MacAllister of the NC Zoo Society met with Philo Middle School seventh graders to prepare them for scientist and author Vanessa Woods' talk on Saturday. We kept Winston-Salem native, Dallas Clayton, especially busy with three author visits to Brenner Children's Hospital, Famiily Services, Inc., Head Start, and his alma mater, Reynolds High School. Through his foundation, he shared his book with each attendee.
