What is the BOOKMARKS Festival?
BOOKMARKS is a free one-day street festival, which will be held on September 13, 2008 from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm.
Is there a cost to attend the festival?
Admission to all events on Saturday, September 13 is free of charge. Certain additional items, such as books and refreshments, will be available for purchase at the discretion of those who attend.
Who is organizing the festival?
BOOKMARKS, Winston-Salem Festival of Books, Inc. is organizing and running the festival with help from our wonderful sponsors and partners, and with the assistance of a tremendous pool of additional volunteers.
How can I get involved as a featured author or volunteer or exhibitor or individual donor?
Potential volunteers should contact us at volunteers@bookmarksbookfestival.org. Potential exhibitors should contact us at logistics@bookmarksbookfestival.org. Individuals interested in making a donation to the festival fund should contact BOOKMARKS, Winston-Salem Festival of Books at 336-917-0930 (phone) or email at info@bookmarksbookfestival.org.
Will there be parking available near the festival location?
Yes, check back here soon for specific parking instructions. There will handicapped accessible parking, site parking, and a shuttle service to nearby off-site parking.
What types of food and beverages will be available at the event?
We will have ample food and beverages available to help you enjoy your visit with us. Check back here soon for additional information on food and beverage vendors.
Will there be opportunities to have books signed by participating authors?
Yes. In most cases, there will be time at the end of an author’s presentation to have books signed. Authors’ books will also be available for purchase at the festival, through BOOKMARKS’ official bookseller, Barnes and Noble.
Where should I stay, if I am traveling from out of town?
The official festival hotel is the Wingate Inn.
