Elizabeth Edwards, accomplished attorney, author and wife of presidential candidate John Edwards, will be a featured author at BOOKMARKS 2007, Winston-Salem’s Festival of Books on September 8. The event is free and open to the public.
Edwards will lead off the festival with a discussion on the recently released paperback edition of her book “Saving Graces: Finding Solace and Strength from Friends and Strangers,” which includes an additional chapter from its original publication. Her reading, discussion, and question-and-answer session will be held at 9:30 a.m. on the Main Stage Pavilion in Historic Bethabara Park in Winston-Salem, NC. Edwards will follow her presentation with a book signing in the BOOKSIGNINGS tent.
More than 40 other national, regional and local authors will also read from their works, sign their books and talk with readers at the event. The authors represent a variety of genres for adults and children ranging from mystery to humor, poetry to sci-fi, and sports to history.
Featuring author readings, presentations, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions, illustrator demonstrations, cookbook chef demonstrations, and workshops on writing and publishing, the festival will appeal to all ages and interests.
Children’s activities will include author readings, literary games, and poetry sessions. A variety of community organizations will lead interactive reading-related activities for children.
Refreshments will be available for purchase from local vendors on site during the festival.
