MARKETING & PR PLANNING SUBCOMMITTEE
Goal: Broaden and deepen exposure of and participation in, the BOOKMARKS organization and its mission, the Festival, and other activities.
Description: Committee members market and publicize BOOKMARKS in order to grow and deepen audiences — general, corporate, foundations, and target.
- Responsible for Marketing Plan
- Media
- Identify and contact media outlets, and nurture relationships
- Develops and executes media communications, press releases, media advisories
- Manage print and other advertising creation and execution
- Interacts with media, with President and Board Marketing Liaison
- Electronic
- Develop, maintain, and maximize BOOKMARKS website
- Develop and execute web exposure strategies
- Develop and execute online mailing list opportunities
- Collateral
- Manage print flyers, brochures and other materials creation and execution
- Manage signage creation
- Outreach
- Identify, develop, and publicize outreach opportunities
- Promote stand-alone author-based events/fundraisers
- Develop and execute on-site festival audience surveys
- Interacts with other Committees
To identify and promote festival and event specifics, such as:
- Programming (Festival & author-based events/fundraisers): Authors & programming for general and target audiences; materials for use in promotion
- Volunteers: Publicizing and promoting volunteerism opportunities
- Logistics: Signage; layout for promotion
- Sponsorship & Fundraising: Maximize sponsor, grantors, and donors visibility; sponsorship solicitation materials
Busiest During: June-mid-September; two-months prior to other author-based event(s)
