Members of the media are invited to BOOKMARKS 2007, Winston-Salem’s Festival of Books on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Historic Bethabara Park. The event is free and open to the public. More than 5,000 attendees are expected.
Elizabeth Edwards, accomplished attorney, author and wife of presidential candidate John Edwards, will lead off the festival at 9:30 a.m. with a discussion on the recently released paperback edition of her book “Saving Graces: Finding Solace and Strength from Friends and Strangers.” The presentation will be in the Main Stage Pavilion, near the park’s Visitors Center. Edwards will follow her presentation with a book signing in the nearby BOOKSIGNINGS tent.
Nearly 50 authors will participate in the festival. Activities will include literary discussions, chef demonstrations, and numerous children’s events.
Photo opportunities will be available during Edwards’ presentation. Edwards’ schedule will not permit media questions outside of her speaking engagement. Interview requests for Edwards should be directed to Lindsay Gordon at 212-782-9077.
